MCS 150 Packet

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Short answers about what we do, what we do not do, and how the guided MCS-150 packet works.

Are you FMCSA or the U.S. DOT?

No. MCS 150 Packet is an independent preparation support service. We are not FMCSA, U.S. DOT, Login.gov, or a government agency.

Is the official MCS-150 update free?

Yes. Carriers can complete their own official FMCSA biennial update for free. Our fee is for preparation support, field organization, missing-information review, and submission guidance.

Why would I pay if I can do it myself?

You should use the free official process if you are comfortable doing it yourself. Customers pay us when they want the instructions turned into plain questions, unclear fields explained, missing information flagged, and a review packet prepared before they submit.

What do I get for $149?

The standard packet includes a filing-month and year check, public-record snapshot review, guided intake review, field-by-field MCS-150 answer sheet, missing or uncertain item list, and submission/confirmation checklist. The target turnaround is 24 hours after we receive the required intake information.

Do you need my Login.gov or FMCSA Portal password?

No. Do not send passwords. If you need to log in to an official account, you should log in yourself. We can provide instructions, but you remain in control of your account.

Do you submit the update for me?

The standard packet is preparation support only. You review the packet, confirm the information is accurate, certify if required, submit through the official FMCSA route, and keep the confirmation for your records.

Do I submit online, through Ask FMCSA, or by paper form?

It depends on your record and change type. Your packet includes the route that appears to fit your situation, such as FMCSA Portal, Ask FMCSA upload, or a paper/signature route. You should verify the official instructions before submitting.

Can you guarantee my update will be accepted?

No. We cannot guarantee acceptance, timing, legal status, operating authority, or government processing. You are responsible for accurate information and final submission. We help organize and prepare review materials.

What if I already completed my update?

You may not need this service. Check your current FMCSA or SAFER record and any confirmation you received before ordering. We do not recommend paying for duplicate work.

What is your refund policy?

If we have not started preparing your packet, you can request a refund. Once preparation has started, refunds are limited because the service includes manual review and document preparation. If we cannot deliver the standard packet because of an issue on our side, contact us and we will work to correct it or issue an appropriate refund.

What information should I not send?

Do not send Login.gov passwords, FMCSA Portal passwords, Social Security numbers, bank details, or unnecessary sensitive personal information. Use the intake form and email only for information needed to prepare the MCS-150 packet.

How do I contact support?

Email support@mcs150packet.com. Please include your USDOT number and business name, but do not include passwords.
